Composited Female Rage

I have Feminine Rage about so much that happens in my life. Below is a project for one of my Art classes where I was asked to provide social commentary on any issue through digital and analog compositing. I chose what I have always been most passionate about, bringing awareness about women's struggles and issues that impact everyone; not just women. This is a project I plan to expand on, and to become more intersectional. This project uses both self-portraiture and downloaded public domain images, and handwritten elements as well. Each image has a title/caption that aids the image in its understandably.

Stardust Magazine

For the final project of my Art Photography class, the prompt was Photography As...

I chose to do Photography as Design. I have never considered myself a designer. I am an artist! This year has made me realize I can be both. The rules of design are often too restrictive for me and make me feel like I lose a sense of individuality in my work. The individuality of art can make me feel like I am too focused on myself and often I want to make work for and about others. I have worked at this all quarter and did not realize till this point that each project in this class have been designed as well! I love the hybrid of art and design and am excited to continue evolving these interests through experimentation.

Consciousness In Question

Every day I wake up from about mid November through March, I question everything. Is life real, what parts of this will i remember, am I real, does any of this matter, etc? My Dissociative Disorder flies off the handles just enough to make my reality not credible. I experience life in small snippets of moments, only able to hold on to the ones that stick. My ptsd causes my brain try to protect me by pulling me out of reality. Consciousness In Question: the way I see each day; in small moments that are fleeting.

This was the final project for one of my classes in college. The instruction was to record parts of our day of each day of the quarter, and put them together in a 3-7 minute video that had a narrative.
